9th Night of Zill-Hijjah (Night of Arafaat) (Zill-Ḥijjah)

Description:

This blessed night is the night of praying for granting all requests. Repentance at this night is accepted, prayers responded, and acts of worship and obedience achieve the reward of one hundred and seventy years of worship.

 

The devotional acts at this night are as follows:

It is recommended to say the following supplicatory prayer. It is narrated that Almighty Allah will forgive one who says this supplicatory prayer at the ‘Arafat Night or Friday nights:

اَللّٰھُمَّ یَا شَاھِدَ کُلِّ نَجْوٰی وَمَوْضِعَ کُلِّ شَکْوٰی وَعَالِمَ کُلِّ خَفِیَّۃٍ وَمُنْتَھٰی کُلِّ حَاجَۃٍ یَا مُبْتَدِئًا بِالنِّعَمِ عَلَی الْعِبَادِ یَا کَرِیْمَ الْعَفْوِ یَا حَسَنَ التَّجَاوُزِ یَا جَوَادُ یَا مَنْ لَّا یُوَارِی مِنْہُ لَیْلٌ دَاجٍ وَّلَا بَحْرٌ عَجَّاجٌ وَّلَا سَمَآئٌ ذَاتُ اَبْرَاجٍ وَّلَا ظُلَمٌ ذَاتُ ارْتِتَاجٍ یَا مَنِ الظُّلْمَۃُ عِنْدَہٗ ضِیَآئٌ اَسْئَلُکَ بِنُوْرِ وَجْھِکَ الْکَرِیْمِ الَّذِیْ تَجَلَّیْتَ بِہٖ لِلْجَبَلِ فَجَعَلْتَہٗ دَ کًّا وَّخَرَّ مُوْسٰی صَعِقًا وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ رَفَعْتَ بِہِ السَّمٰوَاتِ بِلَا عَمَدٍ وَّسَطَحْتَ بِہِ الْاَرْضَ عَلٰی وَجْہِ مَآئٍ جَمَدٍ وَّبِاسْمِکَ الْمَخْزُوْنِ الْمَکْنُوْنِ الْمَکْتُوْبِ الطَّاھِرِ الَّذِیْ اِذَا دُعِیْتَ بِہٖٓ اَجَبْتَ وَ اِذَا سُئِلْتَ بِہٖٓ اَعْطَیْتَ وَبِاسْمِکَ السُّبُّوْحِ الْقُدُّوْسِ الْبُرْھَانِ الَّذِیْ ھُوَ نُوْرٌ عَلٰی کُلِّ نُوْرٍ وَّنُوْرٌ مِّنْ نُوْرٍ یُضِٓیْئُ مِنْہُ کُلُّ نُوْرٍ اِذَا بَلَغَ الْاَرْضَ انْشَقَّتْ وَ اِذَا بَلَغَ السَّمٰوَاتِ فُتِحَتْ وَاِذَا بَلَغَ الْعَرْشَ اھْتَزَّ وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ تَرْتَعِدُ مِنْہُ فَرَآئِصُ مَلَآئِکَتِکَ وَاَسئَلُکَ بِحَقِّ جَبْرَآئِیْلَ وَمِیْکَائِیْلَ وَ اِسْرَافِیْلَ وَبِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍنِ الْمُصْطَفٰی صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَعَلٰی جَمِیْعِ الْاَ نْبِیَآئِ وَجَمِیْعِ الْمَلَآئِکَۃِ وَبِالْاِسْمِ الَّذِیْ مَشٰی بِہٖ الْخِضْرُ عَلٰی قُلَلِ الْمَآئِ کَمَا مَشٰی بِہٖ عَلٰی جَدَدِ الْاَرْضِ، وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ فَلَقْتَ بِہ الْبَحْرَ لِمُوْسٰی وَاَغْرَقْتَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَقَوْمَہٗ وَاَنْجَیْتَ بِہٖ مُوسٰی بْنَ عِمْرَانَ وَمَنْ مَعَہٗ وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ دَعَاکَ بِہٖ مُوْسٰی بْنُ عِمْرَانَ مِنْ جَانِبِ الطُّوْرِ الْاَیْمَن فَاسْتَجَبْتَ لَہٗ وَاَلْقَیْتَ عَلَیْہِ مَحَبَّۃً مِنْکَ وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ بِہٖٓ اَحْیٰی عِیْسَی بْنُ مَرْیَمَ الْمَوْتٰی وَتَکَلَّمَ فِی الْمَھْدِ صَبِیًّا وَّاَبْرَاَ الْاَکْمَہَ والْاَ بْرَصَ بِاِذْنِکَ وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ دَعَاکَ بِہٖ حَمَلَۃُ عَرْشِکَ وَجَبْرَآئِیْلُ وَمِیْکَآئِیْلُ وَ اِسْرَافِیْلُ وَحَبِیْبُکَ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَمَلَآئِکَتُکَ الْمُقَرَّبُوْنَ وَاَنْبِیَآؤُکَ الْمُرْسَلُوْنَ وَعِبَادُکَ الصَّالِحُوْنَ مِنْ اَھْلِ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرَضِیْنَ وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ دَعَاکَ بِہِ ذُوْ النُّوْنِ اِذْ ذَھَبَ مُغاضِباً فَظَنَّ اَنْ لَّنْ تَقْدِرَ عَلَیْہِ فَنَادٰی فِی الظُّلُمَاتِ اَنْ لَّآ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اَ نْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ اِنِّیْ کُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِیْنَ فَاسْتَجَبْتَ لَہٗ وَنَجَّیْتَہٗ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَکَذَلِکَ تُنْجِی الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَبِاسْمِکَ الْعَظِیْمِ الَّذِیْ دَعَاکَ بِہٖ دَاوٗدُ وَخَرَّ لَکَ سَاجِدًا فَغَفَرْتَ لَہٗ ذَ نْبَہٗ، وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیّ دَعَتْکَ بِہٖٓ اٰسِیَۃُ امْرَاَۃُ فِرْعَوْنَ اِذْ قَالَتْ رَبِّ ابْنِ لِیْ عِنْدَکَ بَیْتًا فِی الْجَنَّۃِ وَنَجِّنِیْ مِنْ فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِہٖ وَنَجِّنِیْ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِیْنَ فَاسْتَجَبْتَ لَھَا دُعَآئَھَا وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ دَعَاکَ بِہٖ اَیُّوْبُ اِذْ حَلَّ بِہِ الْبَلَآئُ فَعَافَیْتَہٗ وَاٰتَیْتَہٗٓ اَھْلَہٗ وَمِثْلَھُمْ مَعَھُمْ رَحْمَۃً مِنْ عِنْدِکَ وَذِکْرٰی لِلْعَابِدِیْنَ وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ دَعَاکَ بِہٖ یَعْقُوْبُ فَرَدَدْتَ عَلَیْہِ بَصَرَہٗ وَقُرَّۃَ عَیْنِہٖ یُوْسُفَ وَجَمَعْتَ شَمْلَہٗ وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ دَعَاکَ بِہٖ سُلَیْمَانُ فَوَھَبْتَ لَہٗ مُلْکًا لَّا یَنْبَغِیْ لِاَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِھٖٓ اِنَّکَ اَ نْتَ الْوَہَّابُ وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ سَخَّرْتَ بِہِ الْبُرَاقَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ اِذْ قَالَ تَعَالٰی سُبْحَانَ الَّذِیْٓ اَسْرٰی بِعَبْدِہٖ لَیْلًا مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ اِلَی الْمَسْجِدِ الْاَقْصٰی وَقَوْلُہٗ سُبْحَانَ الَّذِیْ سَخَّرَ لَنَا ھٰذَا وَمَا کُنَّا لَہُ مُقْرِنِیْنَ وَ اِنَّا اِلٰی رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُوْنَ وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ تَنَزَّلَ بِہٖ جَبْرَآئِیْلُ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَبِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ دَعَاکَ بِہٖٓ آدَمُ فَغَفَرْتَ لَہٗ ذَ نْبَہٗ وَاَسْکَنْتَہٗ جَنَّتَکَ وَاَسْئَلُکَ بِحَقِّ الْقُرْاٰنِ الْعَظِیْمِ وَبِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِیِّیْنَ، وَبِحَقِّ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ ، وَبِحَقِّ فَصْلِکَ یَوْمَ الْقَضَآئِ، وَبِحَقِّ الْمَوَازِیْنِ اِذَا نُصِبَتْ، وَالصُّحُفِ اِذَا نُشِرَتْ، وَبِحَقِّ الْقَلَمِ وَمَا جَرٰی وَاللَّوْحِ وَمَا اَحْصٰی وَبِحَقِّ الْاِسْمِ الَّذِیْ کَتَبْتَہٗ عَلٰی سُرَادِقِ الْعَرْشِ قَبْلَ خَلْقِکَ الْخَلْقَ وَالدُّنْیَا وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ بِاَ لْفَیْ عَامٍ وَاَشْھَدُ اَنْ لَّا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَہٗ لَا شَرِیْکَ لَہٗ وَاَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُہٗ وَرَسُوْلُہٗ وَاَسْئَلُکَ بِاسْمِکَ الْمَخْزُوْنِ فِی خَزَآئِنِکَ الَّذِیْ اسْتَٲْثَرْتَ بِہٖ فِیْ عِلْمِ الْغَیْبِ عِنْدَکَ لَمْ یَظْھَرْ عَلَیْہِ اَحَدٌ مِنْ خَلْقِکَ لَا مَلَکٌ مُقَرَّبٌ وَّلَا نَبِیٌّ مُرْسَلٌ وَّلَا عَبْدٌ مُصْطَفًی وَّاَسْئَلُکَ بِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ شَقَقْتَ بِہِ الْبِحَارَ وَقَامَتْ بِہِ الْجِبَالُ وَاخْتَلَفَ بِہِ اللَّیْلُ وَالنَّھَارُ وَبِحَقِّ السَّبْعِ الْمَثَانِیْ وَالْقُرْاٰنِ الْعَظِیْمِ وَبِحَقِّ الْکِرَامِ الْکَاتِبِیْنَ وَبِحَقِّ طٰہٰ وَیٰسٓ وَکٓھٰیٰعٓصٓ وَحٰمٓعٓسٓقٓ وَبِحَقِّ تَوْرٰۃِ مُوْسٰی وَ اِنْجِیْلِ عِیْسٰی وَزَبُوْرِ دَاوٗدَ وَفُرْقَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَعَلٰی جَمِیْعِ الرُّسُلِ وَبَاھِیًّا شَرَاھِیًّا اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنِّیْٓ اَسْئَلُکَ بِحَقِّ تِلْکَ الْمُنَاجَاۃِ الَّتِیْ کَانَتْ بَیْنَکَ وَبَیْنَ مُوْسَی بْنِ عِمْرَانَ فَوْقَ جَبَلِ طُوْرِ سَیْنَآئَ وَاَسْئَلُکَ بِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ عَلَّمْتَہٗ مَلَکَ الْمَوْتِ لِقَبْضِ الْاَرْوَاحِ وَاَسَئَلُکَ بِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ کُتِبَ عَلٰی وَرَقِ الزَّیْتُوْنِ فَخَضَعْتِ النِّیْرَانُ لِتِلْکَ الْوَرَقَۃِ فَقُلْتَ یَا نَارُ کُوْنِیْ بَرْدًا وَّسَلَامًا وَاَسْاَلُکَ بِاسْمِکَ الَّذِیْ کَتَبْتَہٗ عَلٰی سُرَادِقِ الْمَجْدِ وَالْکَرَامَۃِ یَا مَنْ لَّا یُخْفِیْہِ سَآئِلٌ وَّلَا یَنْقُصُہٗ نَآئِلٌ یَا مَنْ بِہٖ یُسْتَغَاثُ وَ اِلَیْہِ یُلْجَٲُ اَسْئَلُکَ بِمَعَاقِدِ الْعِزِّ مِنْ عَرْشِکَ وَمُنْتَھَی الرَّحْمَۃِ مِنْ کِتَابِکَ وَبِاسْمِکَ الْاَعْظَمِ وَجَدِّکَ الْاَعْلٰی وَکَلِمَاتِکَ التَّآمَّاتِ الْعُلٰی اَللّٰھُمَّ رَبَّ الرِّیَاحِ وَمَا ذَرَتْ وَالسَّمَآئِ وَمَا اَظَلَّتْ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا اَقَلَّتْ وَالشَّیَاطِیْنِ وَمَا اَضَلَّتْ وَالْبِحَارِ وَمَا جَرَتْ وَبِحَقِّ کُلِّ حَقٍّ ھُوَ عَلَیْکَ حَقٌّ وَبِحَقِّ الْمَلَآئِکَۃِ الْمُقَرَّبِیْنَ وَالرَّوْحَانِیِّیْنَ وَالْکَرُوْبِیِّیْنَ وَالْمُسَبِّحِیْنَ لَکَ بِاللَّیْلِ وَالنَّھَارِ لَا یَفْتُرُوْنَ وَبِحَقِّ اِبْرَاھِیْمَ خَلِیْلِکَ وَبِحَقِّ کُلِّ وَ لِیٍّ یُنَادِیْکَ بَیْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَۃِ وَتَسْتَجِیْبُ لَہٗ دُعَآئَہٗ یَا مُجِیْبُ اَسْئَلُکَ بِحَقِّ ھٰذِہِ الْاَسْمَآئِ وَبِھٰذِہِ الدَّعَوَاتِ اَنْ تَغْفِرَ لَنَا مَا قَدَّمْنَا وَمَا اٰخَّرْنَا وَمَا اَسْرَرْنَا وَمَا اَعْلَنَّا وَمَا اَبْدَیْنَا وَمَا اَخْفَیْنَا وَمَا اَ نْتَ اَعْلَمُ بِہٖ مِنَّآ اِنَّکَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ بِرَحْمَتِکَ یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ یَا حَافِظَ کُلِّ غَرِیْبٍ یَا مُؤْ نِسَ کُلِّ وَحِیْدٍ یَا قُوَّۃَ کُلِّ ضَعِیْفٍ یَا ناصِرَ کُلِّ مَظْلُوْمٍ یَا رَازِقَ کُلِّ مَحْرُوْمٍ یَا مُؤْ نِسَ کُلِّ مُسْتَوْحِشِ یَا صَاحِبَ کُلِّ مُسَافِرٍ یَا عِمَادَ کُلِّ حاضِرٍ یَا غَافِرَ کُلِّ ذَ نْبٍ وَخَطِیْئَۃٍ یَا غِیَاثَ الْمُسْتَغِیْثِیْنَ یَا صَرِیْخَ الْمُسْتَصْرِخِیْنَ، یَا کَاشِفَ کَرْبِ الْمَکْرُوْبِیْنَ، یَا فَارِجَ ھَمِّ الْمَھْمُوْمِیْنَ یَا بَدِیْعَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرَضِیْنَ یَا مُنْتَہٰی غَایَۃِ الطَّالِبِیْنَ، یَا مُجِیْبَ دَعْوَۃِ الْمُضْطَرِّیْنَ یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ یَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ یَا دَیَّانَ یَوْمِ الدِّیْنِ یَا اَجْوَدَ الْاَجْوَدِیْنَ یَا اَکْرَمَ الْاَکْرَمِیْنَ یَا اَسْمَعَ السَّامِعِیْنَ یَا اَبْصَرَ النَّاظِرِیْنَ یَا اَ قْدَرَ الْقَادِرِیْنَ اغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِی تُغَیِّرُ النِّعَمَ وَاغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِی تُوْرِثُ النَّدَمَ وَاغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِیْ تُوْرِثُ السَّقَمَ وَاغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِیْ تَھْتِکُ الْعِصَمَ وَاغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِیْ تَرُدُّ الدُّعَآئَ وَاغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِیْ تَحْبِسُ قَطْرَ السَّمَآئِ وَاغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِیْ تُعَجِّلُ الْفَنَآئَ وَاغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِیْ تَجْلِبُ الشَّقَآئَ وَاغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِیْ تُظْلِمُ الْھَوَآئَ وَاغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِیْ تَکْشِفُ الْغِطَآئَ وَاغْفِرْ لِیَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِیْ لَا یَغْفِرُھَا غَیْرُکَ یَا اللّٰهُ وَاحْمِلْ عَنِّیْ کُلَّ تَبِعَۃٍ لِّاَحَدٍ مِّنْ خَلْقِکَ وَاجْعَلْ لِیْ مِنْ اَمْرِیْ فَرَجًا وَّمَخْرَجًا وَیُسْرًا وَاَنْزِلْ یَقِیْنَکَ فِیْ صَدْرِیْ وَرَجَآئَکَ فِیْ قَلْبِیْ حَتّٰی لَآ اَرْجُوَ غَیْرَکَ اَللّٰھُمَّ احْفَظْنِیْ وَعَافِنِیْ فِیْ مَقَامِیْ وَاصْحَبْنِیْ فِیْ لَیْلِیْ وَنَہَارِیْ وَمِنْ بَیْنِ یَدَیَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِیْ وَعَنْ یَمِیْنِیْ وَعَنْ شِمَالِیْ وَمِنْ فَوْقِیْ وَمِنْ تَحْتِیْ وَیَسِّرْ لِیَ السَّبِیْلَ وَاَحْسِنْ لِیَ التَّیْسِیْرَ وَلَا تَخْذُلْنِیْ فِی الْعَسِیْرِ وَاھْدِنِیْ یَا خَیْرَ دَلِیْلٍ وَلَا تَکِلْنِیْٓ اِلٰی نَفْسِیْ فِی الْاُمُوْرِ وَلَقِّنِیْ کُلَّ سُرُوْرٍ وَّاقْلِبْنِیْٓ اِلٰٓی اَھْلِیْ بِالْفَلَاحِ وَالنَّجَاحِ مَحْبُوْرًا فِی الْعَاجِلِ وَالْاٰجِلِ اِنَّکَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ وَارْزُقْنِیْ مِنْ فَضْلِکَ وَاَوْسِعْ عَلَیَّ مِنْ طَیِّبَاتِ رِزْقِکَ وَاسْتَعْمِلْنِیْ فِیْ طَاعَتِکَ وَاَجِرْنِیْ مِنْ عَذَابِکَ وَنَارِکَ وَاقْلِبْنِیْ اِذَا تَوَفَّیْتَنِیْ اِلٰی جَنَّتِکَ بِرَحْمَتِکَ اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَعُوْذُ بِکَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِکَ، وَمِنْ تَحْوِیْلِ عَافِیَتِکَ وَمِنْ حُلُوْلِ نَقِمَتِکَ وَمِنْ نُزُوْلِ عَذَابِکَ وَاَعُوْذُ بِکَ مِنْ جَھْدِ الْبَلَآئِ وَدَرَکِ الشَّقَآئِ وَمِنْ سُوْٓئِ الْقَضَآئِ وَشَمَاتَۃِ الْاَعْدَآئِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا یَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَآئِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِی الْکِتَابِ الْمُنْزَلِ اَللّٰھُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْنِیْ مِنَ الْاَشْرَارِ وَلَا مِنْ اَصْحَابِ النَّارِ وَلَا تَحْرِمْنِیْ صُحْبَۃَ الْاَخْیَارِ وَاَحْیِنِیْ حَیٰوۃً طَیِّبَۃً وَتَوَفَّنِیْ وَفَاۃً طَیِّبَۃً تُلْحِقُنِیْ بِالْاَ بْرَارِ وَارْزُقْنِیْ مُرَافَقَۃَ الْاَنْبِیَآئِ فِیْ مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ مَلِیْکٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ اَللّٰھُمَّ لَکَ الْحَمْدُ عَلٰی حُسْنِ بَلَآئِکَ وَصُنْعِکَ وَلَکَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَی الْاِسْلَامِ وَاتِّبَاعِ السُّنَّۃِ یَا رَبِّ کَمَا ھَدَیْتَھُمْ لِدِیْنِکَ وَعَلَّمْتَھُمْ کِتَابَکَ فَاھْدِنَا وَعَلِّمْنَا وَلَکَ الْحَمْدُ عَلٰی حُسْنِ بَلَاْئِکَ وَصُنْعِکَ عِنْدِیْ خَاصَّۃً کَمَا خَلَقْتَنِیْ فَاَحْسَنْتَ خَلْقِیْ وَعَلَّمْتَنِیْ فَاَحْسَنْتَ تَعْلِیْمِیْ وَھَدَیْتَنِیْ فَاَحْسَنْتَ ھِدَایَتِیْ فَلَکَ الْحَمْدُ عَلٰی اِنْعَامِکَ عَلَیَّ قَدِیْمًا وَحَدِیْثًا فَکَمْ مِنْ کَرْبٍ یَا سَیِّدِیْ قَدْ فَرَّجْتَہٗ وَکَمْ مِنْ غَمٍّ یَا سَیِّدِیْ قَدْ نَفَّسْتَہٗ وَکَمْ مِنْ ھَمٍّ یَا سَیِّدِیْ قَدْ کَشَفْتَہٗ وَکَمْ مِنْ بَلَآئٍ یَا سَیِّدِیْ قَدْ صَرَفْتَہٗ وَکَمْ مِنْ عَیْبٍ یَا سَیِّدِیْ قَدْ سَتَرْتَہٗ فَلَکَ الْحَمْدُ عَلٰی کُلِّ حَالٍ فِیْ کُلِّ مَثْوًی وَّزَمَانٍ وَمُنْقَلَبٍ وَمَقَامٍ وَّعَلٰی ھٰذِہِ الْحَالِ وَکُلِّ حَالٍ اَللّٰھُمَّ اجْعَلْنِیْ مِنْ اَفْضَلِ عِبَادِکَ نَصِیْبًا فِیْ ھٰذَا الْیَوْمِ مِنْ خَیْرٍ تَقْسِمُہٗٓ اَوْ ضُرٍّ تَکْشِفُہٗٓ اَوْ سُوْٓئٍ تَصْرِفُہٗٓ اَوْ بَلَآئٍ تَدْفَعُہٗٓ اَوْ خَیْرٍ تَسُوْقُہٗٓ، اَوْ رَحْمَۃٍ تَنْشُرُھَآ اَوْ عَافِیَۃٍ تُلْبِسُھَا فَاِنَّکَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ وَبِیَدِکَ خَزَآئِنُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَاَنْتَ الْوَاحِدُ الْکَرِیْمُ الْمُعْطِی الَّذِیْ لَا یُرَدُّ سَآئِلُہٗ وَلَا یُخَیَّبُ اٰمِلُہٗ وَلَا یَنْقُصُ نَائِلُہٗ وَلَا یَنْفَدُ مَا عِنْدَہٗ بَلْ یَزْدَادُ کَثْرَۃً وَّطِیْبًا وَّعَطَآئً وَّجُوْدًا وَارْزُقْنِیْ مِنْ خَزَآئِنِکَ الَّتِیْ لَا تَفْنٰی وَمِنْ رَّحْمَتِکَ الْوَاسِعَۃِ اِنَّ عَطَآئَکَ لَمْ یَکُنْ مَّحْظُوْرًا وَاَنْتَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ بِرَحْمَتِکَ یَآ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ ۔

Translation:

O Allah Who witnesses all secrets of hearts, Who is the object of all complaints, Who knows all hidden things, and Who is the aim of all needs! O He Who instigates favoring on the Servants! O He Who is All-generous in pardoning! O He Who is All-excellent in overlooking! O All-magnanimous! O He Who cannot be concealed by the covering darkness of night, the roaring clamor of oceans, the skies along with their constellations, or the thunderous murk. O He with Whom the entire murk is light, I beseech You in the name of the brightness of Your Noble Face through which You manifested Your glory to the mountain; so, You made it crumble and (Prophet) Moses fell down in a swoon, in the name of Your Name by which You raised the heavens without any pillars and by which You flattened the earth on the surface of solid water, in the name of Your Name—the concealed, the stored, the scribed, and the pure, which You answer any one who beseeches You in its name and grant any one who asks You his request, in the name of Your Name; the Praised, Holy, and Demonstrative, which is light over the entire light, which is light made of light, and from which all lights take their brightness; if it reaches the earth, it will be rent asunder, if it reaches the heavens, they will be opened, and if it reaches the throne, it will quiver; and in the name of Your Name from the fear of which the muscles of Your angels tremble. I beseech You in the name of [Archangels] Gabriel, Michael, and Seraph, in the name of Muhammad, the Divinely-chosen Prophet, peace be upon him, his Household, and all prophets and angels; in the name of the Name through which al-Kha¤ir could walk on waters just as he used to walk on lands; in the name of You Name through which You caused the sea to cleave asunder for Moses, You drowned Pharaoh and his people, and saved Moses, the son of `Imr¡n, and those who accompanied him; in the name of Your Name by which Moses, the son of `Imr¡n, besought You from the right slope of the Mount; so, You responded to him and cast down upon him love from You; in the name of Your Name by which Jesus, the son of Mary, brought life to the dead, could speak while he was a child in the cradle, and healed the blind and the leprous by Your permission; in the name of Your Name by which the bearers of Your Throne besought You and so did Gabriel, Michael, Seraph, Muhammad Your most beloved one (peace be upon him and upon his Household) Your favorite angels, Your messaged Prophets, and Your righteous servants from among the inhabitants of the heavens and the layers of the earth; in the name of Your Name by which Dhu’l-N£n (Prophet Jonah) besought You when he departed in wrath: he imagined that You had no power over him, but he cried through the depths of darkness, “There is no god but You. Glory be to You. I was indeed one of those who are wrong!” So, You responded to him and delivered him from the grief and thus do You deliver the believers; in the name of Your Great Name by which David besought You and as he fell down prostrating himself to You, You rectified it for him; in the name of Your Name by which ªsiyah, the wife of Pharaoh, besought You, saying, “My Lord! Build for me a house with You in Paradise, deliver me from Pharaoh and his doing, and deliver me from the unjust people.” So, You responded to her prayer; in the name of Your Name by which (Prophet) Job besought You after misfortune had befallen him; so, You healed him and gave him his family and the like of them with them: a mercy from You and a reminder to the worshippers; in the name of Your Name by which (Prophet) Jacob besought You; so, You returned to him his sight and the delight of his heart, Joseph, and You reunified him. in the name of Your Name by which (Prophet) Solomon besought You; So, You gifted him kingdom that none else should never gain, for You are verily the Granter of bounties; in the name of Your Name by which You subdued the Bur¡q to Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his Household, as Almighty Allah says, “Glory be to Him Who made His servant to go on a night from the Sacred Mosque to the remote mosque.” He also says, “Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it. Surely, to our Lord we must return;” in the name of Your Name by which (Archangel) Gabriel used to ascend to Muhammad, peace be upon him and his Household; and in the name of Your Name by which Adam besought You; so, You rectified him and allowed him to dwell in Your Paradise. I beseech You in the name of the Great Qur'¡n, in the name of Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets, in the name of Abraham, in the name of Your Judgment on the Day of the Administration of Justice, in the name of the Scales when they shall be set up, the Scrolls when they shall be laid open, the Pen and whatever has been decided, and the Tablet and whatever it has recorded; in the name of the Name that You had inscribed on the pavilion of the Divine Throne two thousand years before You created the beings, the world, the sun, and the moon. I bear witness that there is no god save Allah, alone without having any partner, and that Muhammad is his servant and messenger. I beseech You in the name of Your Name that is hoarded in Your stores, You have kept in the knowledge of the Unseen with You and it has not been shown to any of Your creatures, be him a favorite angel, a missioned Prophet, or a chosen servant. I beseech You in the name of Your Name by which You rent asunder the oceans, the mountains rose, and night and day follow each other, in the name of the seven of the oft-repeated verses and the Grand Qur'¡n, in the name of the noble, recording angels, in the name of ±¡-H¡, Y¡-S¢n, K¡f-H¡-Y¡-`Ayn-¯¡d, °¡-M¢m-`Ayn-S¢n-Q¡f, and in the name of the Torah of Moses, the Gospel of Jesus, the Psalms of David, the Furq¡n (Criterion) of Muhammad, peace be upon him, his Household, and all the messengers and b¡hiyy¡ shar¡hiyy¡.([1]) O Allah, I beseech You in the name of this confidential talk which took place between You and Moses, the son of `Imr¡n, on the Mount ±£r Sayn¡', I beseech You in the name of Your Name which You taught the Angel of Death so that he would be able to grasp the souls, I beseech You in the name of Your Name which was written on the leaves of olive-trees; so, fires subdued to these leaves after You said, “O fire! Be a comfort and peace,” and I beseech You in the name of Your Name that You wrote on the canopies of Glory and Dignity. O He Who cannot be annoyed by any beseecher He Who cannot be influenced by any reward (that He presents)! O He Whose refuge is taken and to Whom resort is made! I beseech You in the name of the Seats of Honor belonging to Your Throne, the utmost of mercy in Your Book, Your All-great Name, Your All-high majesty, and Your most high, perfect Words. O Allah, Lord of winds and whatever they scatter far, Lord of the sky and whatever it covers, the Lord of the earth and whatever it carries, the Lord of the devils and whomever they mislead, and the Lord of the oceans and wherever they flow. I beseech You in the name of everything that enjoys a right with You, in the name of the favorite angels, the angels managing the spirits, the cherubim, and the angels praising You night and day without showing sluggishness, in the name of Abraham, Your intimate friend, and in the name of each and every saint who calls You between Safa and Marwah and You respond to his/her prayer. O Responsive Lord! I beseech You in the name of all these names and all these prayers to forgive us all our past and coming sins, including the secret and the open, the hidden and the public, and those whom You know better than we do. Verily, You have power over all things. [Respond] in the name of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy. O He Who guards all strangers! O He Who brings entertainment to all lonely ones! O He Who is the power of all the weak! O He Who is the support of all the persecuted! O He Who bestows upon all the deprived! O He Who brings entertainment to all the lonesome! O He Who is the company of all those on journeys! O He Who is the pillar of all the present! O He Who forgives all sins and offenses! O He Who is the aid of all those begging aid! O He Who is the relief of all those pleading for relief! O He Who relieves the calamity of those inflicted with calamities! O He Who alleviate the distress of the distressed ones! O He Who is the Originator of the heavens and the layers of the earth! O He Who is the utmost hope of the seekers! O He Who responds to the prayers of the troubled! O He Who is the most Merciful of all those who show mercy! O Lord of the worlds! O Master of the Judgment Day! O most Magnanimous of all those who act magnanimously! O most Generous of all those who act generously! O most Hearing of all those who can hear! O most Seeing of all those who can see! O most Powerful of all those who have power! (Please) forgive my sins that change the bounties And forgive me my sins that bring about remorse, forgive me my sins that result in ailment, forgive me my sins that tear safeguards, forgive me my sins that repel prayers, forgive me my sins that withhold the drops of the sky, forgive me my sins that hasten extinction, forgive me my sins that beget misery, forgive me my sins that darken the atmospheres, forgive me my sins that disclose the coverings, forgive me my sins that none can forgive save You, O Allah, bear from me every offensive that I have made against any of Your creatures, make all my affairs reach at relief, exit, and easiness, make Your tranquility ascend on my chest, and make hope in You ascend on my heart so that I shall never hope for anyone save You. O Allah, (please) safeguard me, heal me in all my situations, be my companion at nights and days, be ahead of me, behind me, from my right side, from my left side, from above me, and from beneath me, make easy all the ways for me, make excellent facilitation for me, do not disappoint me in hardships, guide me, O Best of all guides, do not leave me alone in all my affairs, make me receive all pleasures, and make me return to my family with prosperity, success, and gladness in the present and in the future. Verily, You have power over all things. (Please) bestow upon me with Your favors, expand for me the most favorable of Your sustenance, apply me to the obedience to You, redeem me from Your chastisement and Fire, and when You grasp my soul, lead me to Your Paradise, by Your mercy. O Allah, I seek Your protection against confiscation of Your graces, against alternation of Your conferral of wellbeing on me, against the befalling of Your punishment, and against the ensuing of Your chastisement. I seek Your protection against arduous hardships, against coming about of misery, against evil end results, against my enemies’ gloating over my grief, against the evil of everything that ascends from the heavens, and against the evils mentioned in the Revealed Book. O Allah, (please) do not include me with the evil ones, do not include me with the people of Hellfire, do not deprive me of the companionship of the upright people, grant me a pleasant lifetime, decide for me a kind of death due to which You will join me to the Pious Ones, and confer upon me with the companionship of the Prophets in the seat of honesty with the All-powerful King. O Allah, all praise be to You for Your pleasant trials and deeds to us. All praise be to You for my being Muslim and for my following the Prophet’s traditions. O my Lord, as You have guided them (i.e. the pious) and taught them Your Book, (please) guide us and teach us. All praise be to You for Your pleasant trials and deeds to me in private, as You created me, gifted me an excellent form, taught me, gifted me excellent erudition, guided me, and gifted me excellent guidance. So, all praise be to You for Your favors that You conferred upon me in the past and in the present. Too many are the agonies that You, my Master, relieved. Too many are the distresses that You, my Master, eased. Too many are the sufferings that You, my Master, alleviated. Too many are the hardships from which You, my Master, saved me. Too many are the defects that You, my Master, covered. So, all praise be to You for all conditions, in every place and time, every circumstance and situation, and for the current condition and all conditions. O Allah, (please) shower upon me the best share of every good thing that You decide for Your servants on this day, such as harm that You decide to hold off, evil that You decide to ward off, ordeal that You decide to deter, grace that You decide to grant, item of mercy that You decide to distribute, and item of wellbeing that You decide to cover up (on one of Your servants), for You verily have power over all things, in Your hands lie the hoards of the heavens and the earth, You are verily the One, the All-generous, and the Best Bestower, You are the One Whose beseechers are not rejected, and You are the One Who never disappoint those who put hope in Him, the One Who is never influenced by the rewards that He bestows upon anyone, and the One Whose possessions never run out; rather, You always increase in quantity, excellent gift, conferrals, and magnanimity. (Please) bestow upon me from Your hoards that never come to an end and from Your expansive mercy. Your conferral shall never be confined and You have power over all things; in the name of Your mercy; O most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

اَللّٰھُمَّ مَنْ تَعَبَّٲَ وَتَھَیَّاَ وَٲَعَدَّ وَاسْتَعَدَّ لِوِفَادَۃٍ اِلٰی مَخْلُوْقَ رِجَآئَ رِفْدِہٖ وَطَلَبَ نآئِلِہٖ وَجَآئِزَتِہٖ فَاِ لَیْکَ یَا رَبِّ تَعْبِیَتِیْ وَاسْتِعْدَادِیْ رَجَآئَ عَفْوِکَ وَطَلَبَ نَآئِلِکَ وَجَآئِزَتِکَ فَلَا تُخَیِّبْ دُعَآئِیْ یَا مَنْ لَّا یَخِیْبُ عَلَیْہِ سَآئِلٌ وَّلَا یَنْقُصُہٗ نَآئِلٌ فَاِنِّی لَمْ اٰتِکَ ثِقَۃًبِعَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ عَمِلْتُہٗ وَلَا لِوَفَادَۃِ مَخْلُوْقٍ رَجَوْتُہٗٓ اَتَیْتُکَ مُقِرًّا عَلٰی نَفْسِیْ بِالْاِسَآئَۃِ وَالظُّلْمِ مُعْتَرِفًا بِاَنْ لَّا حُجَّۃَ لِیْ وَلَا عُذْرَ اَتَیْتُکَ اَرْجُوْ عَظِیْمَ عَفْوِکَالَّذِیْ عَفَوْتَ بِہٖ عَنِ الْخَاطِئِیْنَ فَلَمْ یَمْنَعْکَ طُوْلُ عُکُوْفِھِمْ عَلٰی عَظِیْمِ الْجُرْمِ اَنْ عُذْتَّ عَلَیْھِمْ بِالرَّحْمَۃِ فَیَا مَنْ رَحْمَتُہٗ وَاسِعَۃٌ وَعَفْوُہُ عَظِیْمٌ، یَا عَظِیْمُ یَاعَظِیْمُ یَا عَظِیْمُ لَا یَرُدُّ غَضَبَکَ اِلَّا حِلْمُکَ وَلَا یُنْجِیْ مِنْ سَخَطِکَ اِلَّا التَّضَرُّعُ اِلَیْکَ فَھَبْ لِیْ یَا اِلٰھِیْ فَرَجًا بِالْقُدْرَۃِ الَّتِیْ تُحْیِیْ بِھَا مَیْتَ الْبِلَادِ وَلَا تُھْلِکْنِیْ غَمًّاحَتّٰی تَسْتَجِیْبَ لِیْ وَتُعَرِّفَنِیْ الْاِجَابَۃَ فِیْ دُعَاْئِیْ وَاَذِقْنِیْ طَعْمَ الْعَافِیَۃِ اِلٰی مُنْتَہٰٓی اَجَلِیْ وَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِیْ عَدُوِّیْ وَلَا تُسَلِّطْہُ عَلَیَّ وَلَا تُمَکِّنْہُ مِنْ عُنُقِیْاَللّٰھُمَّ اِنْ وَضَعْتَنِیْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِیْ یَرْفَعُنِیْ وَ اِنْ رَفَعْتَنِیْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِیْ یَضَعُنِیْ وَ اِنْ اَھْلَکْتَنِیْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِیْ یَعْرِضُ لَکَ فِیْ عَبْدِکَ اَوْ یَسْئَلُکَ عَنْ ٲَمْرِہٖ وَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ اَنَّہٗ لَیْسَ فِیْ حُکْمِکَ ظُلْمٌ وَلَا فِی نَقِمَتِکَ عَجَلَۃٌ وَ اِنَّمَا یَعْجَلُ مَنْ یَخَافُ الْفَوْتَ وَ اِنَّمَا یَحْتَاجُ اِلَی الظُّلْمِ الضَّعِیْفُ وَقَدْ تَعَالَیْتَ یَآ اِلٰھِیْ عَنْ ذٰلِکَ عُلُوًّا کَبِیْرًااَللّٰھُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَعُوْذُ بِکَ فَاَعِذْنِی وَاَسْتَجِیْرُ بِکَ فَاَجِرْنِیْ وَاَسْتَرْزِقُکَ فَارْزُقْنِیْ وَاَتَوَکَّلُ عَلَیْکَ فَاکْفِنِیْ وَاَسْتَنْصِرُکَ عَلٰی عَدُوِّیْ فَانْصُرْنِیْ وَاَسْتَعِیْنُ بِکَ فَاَعِنِّیْ وَاَسْتَغْفِرُکَ یَا اِلٰھِیْ فَاغْفِرْ لِیْ اٰمِیْنَ اٰمِیْنَ اٰمِیْنَ

Translation:

O Allah, One may call up, prepare, ready oneself, and stand prepared for purpose of coming to a creature in the hope of gaining his aid and asking for his gift and present. As for myself, to You—O my Lord—I make my preparations and readiness hoping for Your pardon and asking for Your gift and present. So, (please) do not disappoint my entreaty. O He Who never disappoints His beseechers and Whose prizes never decrease His ample-giving! I have not come to You with confidence of a righteous deed that I have done nor have I had any hope in a grant of any creature. Rather, I have come to You professing myself to be evildoer and transgressor and confessing that I lack any pretext or excuse. I have come to You hoping for Your great pardon due to which You have pardoned the wrongdoers. Hence, their long-lasting retirement to their grave offenses has not prevented You from turning to them with mercy. O He Whose mercy is huge and Whose pardon is great; O All-great, O All-great, O All-great; nothing can repel Your rage except Your forbearance and nothing can save from Your wrath except imploring earnestly to You. So, my God, (please) grant me a relief in the name of the power through which You restore to life the derelict lands, and do not cause me to perish out of grief until You respond to me and show me signs of Your response to my prayers. (please) Make me taste the flavor of wellbeing up to the end of my lifetime, do not make my enemies gloat over me, do not give them a hand over me, and do not make them control over me. O Allah, If You humiliate me, who can then exalt me? And if You exalt me, who can then humiliate me? If You annihilate me, who can then interfere before You concerning the affair of me—Your slave or who can intercede to ask You about it? I have already known for sure that Your decrees are devoid of injustice and Your punishment does not count on immediateness. Verily, immediateness is the work of him who fears lest he may miss, and only do the weak need injustice. As for You, O my God, You are too exalted to be so—Exalted and Great You are beyond all measure! O Allah, I take refuge in You; so, (please) have protection upon me! I call for Your safekeeping; so, (please) keep me under Your security! I appeal for Your sustenance; so, (please) provide me with sustenance! I put trust in You; so, (please) keep me under Your supervision! I call for Your aid against my enemy; so, (please) grant me support! I seek Your assistance; so, (please) assist me! I ask for Your forgiveness; so, (please) forgive me. So, respond! Respond! Respond!

It is highly recommended to visit the holy tomb of Imam al-Husayn (a.s.) at the land of Karbala’ and to reside there up to the ‘Id al-Adha Day (the tenth of Dhu’l-Hijjah) so that Almighty Allah will save from all evils of that year
