Description: The Prophet (S) said, ‘Chiding a boy in his childhood [as discipline] leads to an increase in his intellect as an adult.
رسولُ اللّٰهِِ (صَلَّيَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): عَرامَةُ الصَّبيِّ في صِغَرِهِ زِيادَةٌ في عَقلِهِ في كِبَرِهِ.
Reference:’[Kanz al-’Ummal, no. 30747]
Description: Imam Ali (a.s.) said, ‘He who does not exert himself in his childhood will not be high-minded when he grows up.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): مَن لم يُجهِدْ نَفسَهُ في صِغَرِهِ لَم يَنبُلْ في كِبَرِهِ.
Reference:’[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 8272]
Description: Imam Ali (a.s.) said, ‘He who asks questions as a child is able to answer them himself as an adult.’
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): مَن سَألَ في صِغَرِهِ أجابَ في كِبَرِهِ.
Reference:’[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 8273]
Description: Imam Ali (a.s.) said, ‘He who does not learn as a child does not progress as an adult.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): مَن لَم يَتَعَلَّمْ في الصِّغَرِ لَم يَتَقَدَّمْ في الكِبَرِ.

Description: Imam Ali (a.s.) said, ‘The ignorant man is a child even though he may be old, while the knowledgeable man is an adult even though he be young.’
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): الجاهِلُ صَغيرٌ وإن كانَ شَيخاً، والعالِمُ كَبيرٌ وإن كانَ حَدَثاً.

Description: Imam al-Kazim (a.s.) said, ‘It is recommended to discipline a boy in his childhood in order that he be clement as an adult.’
الإمامُ الكاظمُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): تُستَحَبُّ عَرامَةُ الغُلامِ في صِغَرِهِ لِيَكُونَ حَليماً في كِبَرِهِ.
