Dua for the .8th hour of Day (All)

Description:

The eighth hour, which is the space of time between the amount of four units of prayer after the Noon Prayer and the Afternoon Prayer, is dedicated to Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Rida(a.s.). The supplication at this hour is the following:

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

يَاخَيْرَ مَدْعُوٍّ يَاخَيْرَ مَنْ اعْطٰي يَاخَيْرَ مَنْ سُئِلَ يَامَنْ اَضَآئَ بِاِسْمِهٖ ضَوْٓئُ النَّھَارِ وَاَظْلَمَ بِهٖ ظُلْمَةُ اللَّيْلِ وَسَالَ بِاِسْمِهٖ وَابِلُ السَّيْلٍ وَرَزَقَ اَوْلِيَآئَهُ كُلَّ خَيْرٍ يَامَنْ عَلَا السَّمٰوٰتِ نُوْرُهٗ وَالْاَرْضَ ضَوْٓئُهٗ وَالشَّرْقَ وَالْغَرْبَ رَحْمَتُهٗ يَاوَاسِعَ الْجُوْدِ اَسْئَلُكَ بِحَقِّ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوَسَي الرِّضَا عَلَيْھِمَا السَّلَامُ وَاُقَدِّمُهٗ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ حَوَآئِجِيْ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَي مُحَمَّدٍ وَاَلِ مُحمَّدٍ وَاَنْ تَفْعَلَ بِيْ كَذَا وَكَذَا۔

Transliteration:

ya khayra mad`uwwin ya khayra man a`ta ya khayra man su'ila ya man ada'a bismihi daw'u alnnahari wa azlama bihi zulmatu allayli wa sala bismihi wabilu alssayli wa razaqa awliya'ahu kulla khayrin ya man `ala alssamawati nuruhu wal-arda daw'uhu walshsharqa walgharba rahmatuhu ya wasi`a aljudi as'aluka bihaqqi `aliyyi bni musa alrrida `alayhima alssalamu wa uqaddimuhu bayna yaday hawa'iji an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin…

Translation:

O Best of all besought ones! O Best of all givers! O Best of all asked ones! O He by Whose Name the light of days beams, the darkness of nights dims, the heavy rain of floods flows, and has provided His intimate servants with all prosperity! O He Whose light has gone up the heavens, Whose beam has gone up the earth, and Whose mercy has gone up the east and the west! O Ample in magnanimity, I beseech You in the name of `Ali, the son of Musa, the well-contented, peace be upon both of them, and I present him as my mediation for the settling of my needs, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
